Rent a biologist is an educational initiative, aiming to make biology and the natural sciences a little more approachable than it sometimes is today

For the curious person, Rent a biologist is an agency distributing science communicators all over Norway. You submit an inquiry and we respond with a biologist.

We truly believe the way to saving this planet goes through love and enthusiasm for nature itself, so we aim to create fun and educational experiences, leaving you with at least one new fun fact before you go home.
We are here to help you create a different kind of team building exercise, take your class or group on a field trip, fill your class room with a different type of content, hold dissections, fill up conferences, workshops, seminars and other events with scientific content. We aid in communication work and report writing, with aims on translating hard science into something understandable for everyone.

We try to keep both the carbon footprint and travel costs down, and apply as far as possible to get a biologist from your local area instead of flying in everyone from Oslo

Note: we are not a consultant business, and will not take any commissions regarding impact assessments or creating reports. We are only here to help translate science into something understandable

For you as a biologist, this is intended as a solid platform for developing your skills as both a professional biologist and an educator. Many of our biologists work full time as freelancers, and we definitely see the value of gathering our strength in one place. For others, it is perhaps the work experience that tempts the most, and there are already several biologists who have used Lei a biologist as a stepping stone into permanent positions.

Today we’ve divided Rent a biologist into a registered business (RB) and an organization. The RB deals with bookings, social media and the web page, while the organization focus on networking, the social aspect and doubles down as a “training facility” where you can develop yourself as a communicator in a safe setting.
